The Potensic Dreamer is one of the first professional GPS drones released by the company. It comes with a rechargeable battery, an array of features, a 4K camera, a remote controller, and many benefits for a reasonable price.
Ever since its arrival in the market, the Dreamer 4K has been the preferred budget choice for aerial photographers and videographers and consumers looking for a drone for hobby and entertainment purposes.
This is precisely why I wanted to get my hands on the Dreamer 4K as well, to find out whether it really is a dream or just another fad.
What’s In the Box?
The Potensic Dreamer 4K box is quite large since the drone itself isn’t small either. However, the box’s design is also very cool, decent, and professional, which is great.
Inside the box, there was a solid layer of plastic protection over the contents. Here’s what I was able to find upon opening the box:

There weren’t any excessive add-ons in the box other than the 2 extra spare propellers that were included. In this price range, however, this is more than enough.

However, if we talk about the stability of the 4K camera, it isn’t the best, which is expected at this price since there isn’t a proper 360-degree moveable gimbal to provide added stability and capability.

The battery brick that can be installed into the Potensic Dreamer 4K Drone is 3000mAh. It can be fully charged using the USB charging cable that comes in the box in only 2 hours.
The battery life of the Dreamer 4K is quite amazing. You can expect a playtime of around 31 minutes with a full 2-hour charge. This isn’t something you see in many expensive drones even.
Range:
The range of the Dreamer 4K is actually 800m. This drone is meant for entertainment purposes; however, it can be used for beginner professional aerial photography.
From a professional standpoint, this may seem little, but it is on the average side. Nevertheless, you can take some stunning pictures and capture amazing visuals with this range of Dreamer 4K.
Altitude:
The maximum legal altitude for a consumer drone is 400 feet high. Lucky for you, the Potensic Dreamer 4K Drone comes with a max altitude capability of 392 feet which is great.
You won’t be able to fly the drone above the legal altitude of 400 feet. But this attitude is actually more than enough, even by professional standards of aerial videography.
Speed:
The speed of this drone isn’t the greatest. However, this is why it is considered an apt choice for beginner flyers and drone enthusiasts. The maximum ascent speed is 5 meters per second.

How to Fly the Potensic Dreamer 4K Drone?
So, you already have the Potensic Dreamer 4K Drone with you, but you’ve not opened the box at all; Well, you’re in the right place because I’m going to teach you how exactly you can fly the Potensic Dreamer 4K Drone.
Make sure you follow this step-by-step guide, and you’re going to easily learn how to fly and control this drone like a pro.
Step 1: Charge the Battery-
Ensure you unbox the Dreamer 4K and all of its components and keep them before you on a table. Now, you’re going to take the brick and insert it into the socket in the Dreamer 4K Drone.
The next order of business is to charge the drone. Use the USB charging cable to charge the drone and the Mini-USB cable to charge the remote controller that comes with the drone.

Step 2: Place the Propellers-
Out of the box, your Dreamer 4K drone will not be equipped with the propellers on the brushless motors that come with this drone. Instead, you’re going to have to place them by yourself.

The Potensic Dreamer 4K Drone uses Wi-Fi connectivity to communicate with the PotensicPro Application and the remote controller that comes with this drone.
The next step in this process is to make the Wi-Fi connection. If you’re starting a new drone, it will automatically be connected to the Dreamer 4K drone out of the factory.
However, if you’re getting a new controller, you’d have to hold the right joystick down and press and hold the power button until the LEDs light up and you’ll be connected.
For the Wi-Fi connection with your mobile device, you’re going to need to pair the Wi-Fi signal of the remote with the mobile and add the default password of the Wi-Fi, which will be included in the box of the drone.
Step 4: Calibrate the Drone-
It is now time to calibrate the drone so that you can fly it the right way without encountering any errors. You’re going to need the application for this step.
In the settings, go to Calibration. Now you’ll be instructed to rotate the drone completely horizontally first. Make sure you rotate it at 720 degrees, and you’ll be good.
Next, you’re going to place the nose of the drone down and then rotate it horizontally one more time. After this is done, the geophysical calibration of your Dreamer 4K is completed.

How Did I Test the Potensic Dreamer 4K Drone?
My drone testing process is standard according to protocol. However, I take a few testing steps with every drone and do with the Potensic Dreamer 4K Drone. Let’s check them out.
Flight Test:
First of all, I performed the flight test with the Dreamer 4K. In the flight test, multiple parameters were checked. Initially, the ascent and descent were tested. After that, this drone takes off and lands quickly and effortlessly.
Secondly, I tested the speed of the drone and the range. The drone moves slowly, but the range is quite far, so try to keep it in your view when you’re flying it.
The battery is also very long-lasting, which helps this drone pass with flying colors.
Video and Imaging Test:
To check out the performance of the Sony sensor and the high-quality lens, I took a bunch of wide-angle shots of nature and recorded videos at 4K as well. To my surprise, the quality really was great.
But the problem arrived when I checked the image stabilization. Moving the drone around results in a wobbling image, which isn’t very promising but can be corrected by keeping the drone steady.
Application Test:
Finally, I checked the speed and performance along with the capability of the PotensicPro application. The speed and optimization of the application and its communication with the drone are quite quick.
It can also be used to change the flight modes and operate them effectively, which is a huge plus and one of the major reasons for the success of this drone’s testing process.
Is it Worth the Hype?
Finally, the most important question of this review is, is the Potensic Dreamer 4K worth the hype? Well, it is definitely a great consumer drone for the price and the features it comes with.
But there are a few issues that make it less professional and more entertainment-friendly. If you’re fine with them, you’re going to have a good experience with this drone for sure.
DJI Mini 2: Best Alternative to the Potensic Dreamer 4K Drone
The DJI Mini 2 is one of the best low-budget drones out there in the market. It comes with 4K recordability, an amazing DJI Fly application, tons of flight modes, quick speed, long-range, and a great battery as well.
It even offers a 3-axis gimbal to stabilize the camera. So, it is definitely a great alternative for the Potensic Dreamer 4K Drone.
But the problem is that you’re going to have to spend around twice as much as you would to get the Potensic Dreamer 4K Drone. So if you can afford that, this will be the best drone to get.
