EMAX USA:
EMAX USA is an American Drone and Electronics company which is widely known for manufacturing incredibly high-quality and affordable electronics for consumers across the world.
They’re based in California, USA. With a long background in the FPV racing product manufacturing industry, EMAX USA has an incredibly talented group of employees striving to provide the best products to the customers.
EMAX USA is an industry leader when it comes to high-quality FPV drones in the USA and their drones are famous around the globe. EMAX has a revenue of over $2 million which is incredible.
With the Tinyhawk 2, they’ve truly made their mark in the drone manufacturing industry and have become one of the leaders of the FPV mini-drones in the market.
EMAX Tinyhawk 2:
The Tinyhawk 2 is an upgrade made to the original Tiny Hawk in order to increase stability, camera quality, speed, and the overall flight experience for the drone flying pilots out there.
The best thing about the drone is the Runcam Nano 2 FPV camera which is utilized in this model.
You can record great videos and have a speedy and agile drone flying experience in closed spaces as well as the open outdoors.
This drone comes for a reasonable price and it is a great buy for people who’re just getting started with drone flying due to the incredible quality, ease of flying, and stable flight experience it offers.
What’s In the Box?
The Tinyhawk 2 by EMAX USA comes in decent packaging. It contains all the essentials that you’re going to need for the flight. It comes with a 1S, 450mAH battery as well as a 2S, 300mAH battery.
There are a few extra propellers as well as some warnings, stickers, and instruction manuals. There are a minimalistic USB 1S and 2S charger as well included with the box.
If you’re getting the RTF kit which is the “Ready To Fly” kit, you’re going to get the FPV goggles as well the transmitter controller. So, you can get that if this is your first drone.

Features of the Tinyhawk 2 Drone:
When it comes to features, there are many incredible specifications that are included in this drone. Let’s take a look at some major features of the Tiny hawk 2 drone
FPV Camera:
The great thing about the Tiny Hawk 2 over the original and S version of the Tinyhawk is the camera upgrade. This particular version uses the Runcam Nano 2 FPV camera for recording visuals.
Utilizing more filters and power than the original video transmitter, this camera takes sharp and amazing visuals and captures perfect optics.
The VTX power of the Tinyhawk 2 is 25mW until armed and can even reach 100/200mW for increased range and object penetration for crystal clear videography experience.

LED System:
One of the coolest features that I’ve noticed in this particular drone by EMAX is the throttle response LED system. Depending upon the throttle power, the LEDs will increase or decrease brightness.
This is great for drone sight as without the LEDs you might not be able to locate the drone very well if you’re flying it outdoors.
The LED system also provides a great aesthetic effect to this drone because it lights up when the speed of the drone is increased, making the drone glow and look stunning in flight.
Motors:
For increased speeds and better performance, the motors used in the EMAX Tinyhawk 2 are 16000kv. This is an upgrade to the motors which were used in the original Tiny Hawk.
With these motors, there is an increase of 7% in the power of the drone and the speed of the drone has also increased significantly due to this increase in throttle power.
E6 Transmitter and FPV Goggles:
The E6 transmitter controller is an incredibly well-designed, smooth, and comfortable remote that allows you to freely maneuver, power and control the drone with great stability wherever you want to.
The EMAX Transporter 18650 FPV Goggles are designed for the best first-person-view camera recording experience, especially when they’re paired with the incredible Nano 2 FPV camera.

1S and 2S HV Batteries:
Another great thing about this drone is the fact that allows both 1S 450mAH battery support as well as the 2S 300mAH battery support as well. Both batteries are HV.
With PH2, the drone performance is great on the 1S battery which is not something that can be said for the 2S 300mAH battery because it isn’t supported by the PH2.
Drone Speed:
The top-speed of the Tiny Hawk 2 is around 50 km/h. This is perfect for drone flyers who’re looking to switch between indoor and outdoor flights periodically.
In comparison to other indoor drones, this drone is much more stable and even though the speed of the drone is just as fast as any other aerial camera drone, the stability and durability are never compromised at all.
How to Set Up EMAX Tinyhawk 2:
The overall setup of the drone is fairly simple but if you’re a beginner, then you’re going to face a few difficulties doing it on your own.
That’s why I’ve created a step-by-step guide for you to set up, bind, and fly your EMAX Tiny hawk 2 with ease.
Step 1: Connecting the Drone to the Transmitter:
You might be wondering, how do I connect my Tinyhawk 2? Well, the first thing you’re going to need to do with a charged drone is that you’re going to connect it to the flight controller that you’re using.
Connect the USB cable to the drone. You’re going to change the settings on the BetaFlight application now. Since the controller we’re using is an E6, we’re going to put FRSKY-D in the protocol tab in order to connect it appropriately.
Step 2: Unlocking the VTX Capability:
Do you want to learn how to unlock the Tinyhawk freestyle VTX? This is a little tricky if you’re thinking of switching from 25mW to 100 or even 200mW depending upon your choice.
You’re going to want to press the button at the back of the camera as you plug in the battery and that is going to easily unlock the VTX power potential for you to increase it using BetaFlight.
Step 3: Binding Your Tinyhawk 2:
How do you bind in Tiny Hawk 2? Might be a question your mind must’ve had. That’s why I’m here. There are a few ways of binding your Tinyhawk 2 to the transmitter that you’re using with it. We’re going to use the easier way.
All you have to do is open BetaFlight, go to the command prompt, and type in a command that goes “bind_rx” as the USB cable is still connected to the drone itself and the software will bind the drone itself.
Step 4: Enjoy flying your drone:
Once all of this setup and binding is done, you’re ready to go with the flying of the drone.
Fire up your E6 controller and wear your FPV Goggles because it is time to fly this drone from wide spaces to tiny openings, wherever you want because it is ready to be flown. Have a great time while flying this epic drone.

Pros and Cons of the Tinyhawk 2:
Now that we’ve taken a look at the incredible features that the EMAX Tiny hawk 2 comes with, let’s take a look at the pros and cons of the drone in order to get you to a decision point.
Pros:
Durability:
In my experience, even expensive drones sometimes end up getting chipped or the propellers get damaged after a long time of use which is really a bummer.
That’s not a problem with the Tinyhawk 2. This drone is built and designed with high-quality flexible frame material, making sure that no number of crashes contributes to a bent or damaged drone.
Increased Speed:
Usually, what I’ve seen in indoor drones is that they’re not very fast at all, which is a bummer if you’re a professional drone flyer because as a professional you’re all about racing drones.
The Tinyhawk 2 deals with this problem because it is a racing-grade drone with a top-speed of 50 km/h which is equivalent to many modern outdoor drones even.
Stability:
If you’ve used indoor drones with high speeds, you must’ve seen that it is incredibly difficult to control the drone without it smashing into the walls and the tiny spaces.
The fully optimized controllability of the EMAX Tinyhawk 2 makes it completely stable and allows you to easily maneuver and fly it even in the smallest openings and spaces.
Small Price:
In comparison to other drones that feature an FPV camera along with the same specifications, you’re definitely going to want to go with the much more superior Tinyhawk 2.
For a small price, it packs a lot of punch and is going to make for hours of fun for you and your family. Plus, it’s going to be easy to fly and smooth sailings for new drone flyers.
Adjustable Camera Mount:
Something we’ve all faced in budget camera drones is the lack of moveability. We can’t move the angle of the camera around to get stunning shots.
The Tinyhawk 2 comes with an adjustable camera mount. You can use the included screw-driver if you want to change the mounting angle of the Nano 2 camera on the drone.
This makes recording from different angles and getting a cinematic feel much easier than having to buy an overly expensive camera drone.
Cons:
Very Light Frame:
Although you can take this drone out in the open and you can fly it, the light frame of the drone makes it difficult for you to fly it in windy conditions which isn’t the best thing.
Ph2 unavailable for 2S:
The strangest thing about this drone is that there is no Ph2 available for the 2S 300mAH battery even though the flight experience with the 1S is really smooth.
Mount Issues:
The thing about the screw mount of the camera is that with a number of screws, the mount gets looser which can be a problem for the future if you’re looking to record using the Nano 2 camera.
Makerfire Micro FPV: Great Alternative to EMAX Tinyhawk 2:
A great alternative to the Tiny Hawk 2 is the Makerfire Micro FPV racing drone. It’s cheap, has a great camera quality, good flight time as well as a range of around 300 meters.
The Micro FPV by Makerfire is has overall better control than the Tiny Hawk 2, but the Tiny Hawk 2 has its own benefits. So, the choice is definitely yours to make depending upon whatever drone you like.
Final Thoughts:
Overall, in my opinion, the EMAX Tinyhawk 2 is a really great drone for the price that the RTF kit comes with. It is incredibly stable, high-quality, and would work perfectly whether you’re a beginner or familiar with drone flying.
It is absolutely worth the price and you should definitely get it. There are far more pros than cons of buying a Tiny Hawk 2 and it is definitely a much better successor to the Tinyhawk by EMAX.
Your drone flying experience will be amazing because I personally have had a lot of fun with this drone. Especially with the X-factor that the FPV camera and goggles provide this drone, it is definitely superior to all others.
Getting a great indoor racing drone for a reasonable price is not easy nowadays. If you’re looking for maximum stability, a good price, and incredible quality, this drone is definitely for you.
I assure you that getting EMAX Tinyhawk 2 is going to be a great decision for your drone flying experience. I hope you’re going to make your buying decision easily with this review.
